Facebook has added a new, absolutely cool feature last night, which allow users to tag pages and brands in their Facebook photos as well as in updates. This is already know from the tagging of personal profiles. However, the new feature gives an additional “wow” factor to the brands plus free advertising. It is a great opportunity for brands to gain more exposure on Facebook and to connect products and brands to real-life situations through the people who tag them.
The new tagging feature is quite simple to use, it’s the plain old click on the picture followed by the name of the brand/page. Girls, you can now tag your newly acquired Louis Vuitton, Dior or even a pair Levi’s. Guys, you can show off your Hayabusa, Rolex, Macbook or anything.
Tagged photos will appear in the Photos tab of the tagged Page, rather than on that Page’s Wall. Anyone can tag a Page, even without Liking the Page on beforehand. Page admins can also nix photos from the tab by going into Edit Page > Posting Options > and unchecking “Users can add photos.”
The new tagging feature went live today and Coca cola has already been active in making the best of it. This cola giant came up with an update last night encouraging people to tag them in their picture. Another engagement feature from the company, gives them more clicks on Facebook page.
This update got then 9586 ‘Likes’ in 12 hours and 1136 comments. People have actually mentioned how much they love Coke , but the best one I found was ‘ I run Diet Coke through my veins ‘. Also, people have already started tagging away. Have a look at the Photos tab on the Coca-Cola Page.
Now, have you all started using this tag and let’s see which the first brand you tagged?
