Google Unveils Search Plus Your World

Search and Google are almost synonymous for all of us now. But with new Google+ features just launched, it just gets better and better! Finally, search has completely been integrated into the Google+ ‘s gamut of services with the launch of three new features. If you just sign in your Google+ account it is easy to search for anyone and anything.

The new features :

As an extension of social search, three new features have been launched by Google:

  • Personal Results: This enables you to search information shared specifically with you and your personal contacts.
  • Profiles in Search, both in auto complete and results, which enable you to immediately find people you’re close to or might be interested in following.
  • People and Pages, which help you find people profiles and Google+ pages related to a specific topic or area of interest, and enable you to follow them with just a few clicks.

Together, these features combine to create Search plus Your World.

Search Plus’ Toggle:
Also, with this comes a prominent new toggle on the upper right of the results page where you can see what your search results look like without personal content. With a single click, it is possible to see unpersonalized view of search results. That is if someone who is outside your Google+ circles searches the same thing.

Toggle

This toggle button works for an individual search session, but you can also make this the default in your Search Settings. Search plus Your World will become available over the next few days to people who are signed in and searching on https://www.google.com in English.

Here is the video which explains the concept behind Search Plus Your World. Wondering what Facebook has up its sleeve to counter this 🙂
