It is always interesting to get some input on the state of social media, and here are a few simple indicators that tells something about where the wind is blowing.
Mindjumpers is in a collaborative partnership together with the Bees Awards – the first social media marketing award show that will take place 9th November in San Francisco.
The award opened up for submissions earlier this year in June so the entries have been coming in for some time now. The entries are placed in 16 different categories and exemplifies the power and creativity of social media marketing professionals.
According to the people behind the Bees Awards, the general trends to be observed among the entries is the fact that brands and companies are embracing the use of social media in their marketing approach.
Here are some of the facts:
• Every continent has submitted entries: social media is a worldwide phenomenon
• 14 of the 16 categories have received entries: social media marketing goes way beyond creating a Facebook page
• 63% of the entries come from large brands: new marketing approaches are embraced on the wb
• 70% of the entries come from specialized agencies: agencies are making social media marketing as their expertise and getting significant accounts
