Recently, I wrote a blog post with some simple tips on how to generate leads using social media. Afterwards, I stumbled across a SlideShare presentation on exactly this topic, so I thought that it could be a good thing to share with you as well.
Social media is one peace of the puzzle
I think it’s a good presentation to go through, since it often can be a bit different and maybe more easy way to gain an overview – just like with infographics. Further, it also provides some more knowledge on the area.
The presentation starts by making an interesting point about the fact that social media is not magic. Joining Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn is not something that will revolutionize your company or your marketing efforts.
As a business, you still need to do following:
- Identify your audience
- Get them to notice you
- Create value for them
- Sell something to them
- Keep them happy
This makes good sense and are points of great advice to always keep in mind! As I wrote in my blog post, it’s crucial to keep your target audience in mind since reaching in the blind will not help you obtain your desired goals.
What is also especially interesting in the presentation are the different facts and statistics it presents. For example, it states that companies combining a blog with social media have 79% more Twitter followers, which is something that really confirms how important running a business blog can be. Having more followers naturally equals a bigger chance for some of them to be converted into customers.
Further, the presentation also deals with the subject on how to analyze conversation rates by channel and ends with some more advice and case studies.
