Tips to generating leadsIf you have ever questioned why to be engaged in social media and what to obtain from a well-planned presence, there might be a few things that you have forgot to give some thought. One of the greatest goals to obtain with reaching out through social media is generating more leads. It’s basically about creating traffic to your site and convert visitors into customers. But how can you do this, if you think your social media efforts still haven’t paid off?

First of all, it’s crucial that you know what your overall aim is with either your Facebook page, Twitter profile, company blog or whatever road you have chosen to take. If you haven’t included some specific goals, you are working in the blind not knowing what to strive for. That’s why it’s so important that you create goals for exactly your business. However, I don’t think that we can avoid the fact that every business is looking for even more customers. Here, I will include some tips that can help you generate more business leads.

Blogging brings greater traffic and leads
If your business doesn’t run a blog, it’s a great idea to start one – or blog more often if you have already grabbed the pen. Businesses blogging can more easily create more traffic to their site, but naturally it’s something that takes time. It’s not enough to just blog once every second week. You need to have a continuous flow of content. By creating relevant and interesting quality content, people will come back. They will follow you and a blog provides them with great insights into who you are as a business. The more often you post, the bigger the chance is of acquiring new customers.

Use the business potential of Twitter
The more Twitter followers, the more leads you are able to generate. That’s pretty obvious, but it’s also about getting these followers on board. In order to do this, it can be of great help to start following other Twitter profiles within your target audience. Be on the look out for profiles sharing interesting content. Following such profiles, your business will probably also be of great relevance to them and that is something that might lead to important connections. However, the thing to remember here is namely to keep it relevant, since all Twitter followers are not created equal. It’s better to have a lower amount of quality profiles following you than a lot of people not beneficial for you.

Grow your fanbase on Facebook
Having a good fanbase on your Facebook page is something that can also be of great value for generating business leads. True fans of your brand are priceless in helping you gaining more customers. On a Facebook page, there’s a good chance for people influencing other people’s buying decisions. It’s about word-of-mouth and if some people have great experience with your business, they are more than happy to share it on your page (which is the same for bad experiences, though!). However, the bigger a fanbase, the greater the chance is of converting people into customers. Just remember to do an effort to make people aware of your page. For example, you can have widgets on your website, link in your e-mails, invest in Facebook ads etc.

Keep your target audience in mind
What might count as one of the most important advice in every context is to keep your target audience in mind. It needs to be emphasized how important it is, when reaching out in social media. Whether you’re blogging, trying to raise your number of followers on Twitter or expanding your Facebook fanbase, you need to attract the right people. Otherwise, there’s no need to make an effort and invest the time in social media. Clearly define who you want to target and have these profiles in mind when delivering content on your blog, for example. Always ask yourself what the value might be for your audience. Is it useful? Trying to put yourself in their place is an effective way to go.
