Some time ago, we had a guest post on our blog stating how social media is not a cheaper alternative, even though many marketers think it doesn’t cost much.
Of course, it’s free to establish a presence on social networks, but if you want to do it right and hire the right people to help you, it’s the wrong assumption to think it’s cheap.
It seems as if this is a rather discussed subject at the moment. And this might also result in businesses not knowing whether to really invest in social media, since they do not know the outcome of the effort put into it.
Benefits from social media initiatives
However, recently a study was made regarding this subject and the result has been published in an infographic making it possible to gain a good overview of the outcome of a social media presence.
It’s produced by Focus.com, and below are some of the key findings that they have put into this nice infographic.
According to conducted surveys:
- The main benefit of social media is customer engagement.
- On average, a Facebook fan spends additional $71.84 on products than non-fans.
- The value of a Twitter follower is bigger than cost per follower.
In addition, case studies show how @DellOutlet and @Oldspice have benefited from their social media presences on Twitter and Facebook. However, you can see more of this in the infographic, so check it out and tell us what you think about it.
