Facebook, the world’s largest social network, has recently launched Facebook Live.
Facebook Live is a new interactive channel for the Facebook crowd, more precisely a channel dedicated to the happenings of the social networking company as opposed to a channel for others.
Currently, the videos are replays, though, but eventually it is expected to have more streams to promote movies, music, sports and many other interesting events.
What can you do with the app?
Facebook Live has channels for features and events. When logged on to your account, you are able to invite friends to watch live channels for free, view the activity feed, chat with your Facebook connections and other users while watching, and it will let you watch previous episodes. More sharing options will be available upon clicking the ‘Share’ button below the video.
Sharing Facebook Live with your friends is very easy, as well. For example, you can post it on your wall, update via Twitter or embed your website or blog. In addition, Facebook Live will exist as an app that can be added to any Facebook page. It is able to stream live on multiple pages at the same time, which is a feature that makes it possible for page operators to take advantage of the new channel to attract even more fans. For example, when “special guests” stop by Facebook, this could be Hollywood celebs or musicians, the ones who run a celebrity, TV or music focused Facebook page can use the app of Facebook Live on their own page to the benefit of their fans.
At Mindjumpers, we think that this is another fascinating initiative by Facebook, and it is interesting to see what the next step is going to be by the social platform. What do you think of the new app?
