A piece of customization and co-creation can be the recipe for your business to get your costumers interested in your product.

When allowing persons to be the creators, handing them tools to do something new with your product, you show them how important they are for you. We have seen brilliant cases on this like the Mountain Dew campaign and Skype Outside.

Now Heineken introduce their co-creation campaign Your Heineken – a neat online tool that allows you to create your own bottle. Upload images, pictures and text and you get a 3D preview of your customize Heineken bottle that can be delivered to you in 15 days.

This sort of campaign has almost become mainstream as a huge amount of companies has done it before. But it works. It’s amusing and it leads to sales. Heineken takes it one step further when giving their customers the chance to buy their creation and not just compete against others for winning the best design. Also they bring the least beer enthusiasts interested as it suits for a gift for their friends and family.

Personally I like the campaign, I think it’s pretty cool to turn a classic product into something new and create my type of Heineken. It’s a campaign that suits social media well, as we all have turned more individual: we like products that reflects our own needs and interests, and with the functions on the site, it’s easy to share it with friends on Facebook and Twitter.
