Mindjumpers is a part of Blog Action Day and in occasion of this year’s subject; Climate Change we would like to show you a cool climate change initiative going on in our own city of Copenhagen.
Climate change affects us all and it threatens more than the environment. It threatens to cause famine, flooding, war, and millions of refugees.
On December 7th leaders from 192 countries will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen to talk about climate change and to determine the future of our planet. And in this period Copenhagen will turn into Hopenhagen – a city of hope.

Hopenhagen will create awareness about climate change and draw attention to the climate challenges of the world and the climate solutions of the future. The initiative will bring together the people of the world and send a strong signal to the world’s leaders; we want an ambitious climate agreement on reduction of C02!
To become a citizen of Hopenhagen you can sign a petition on http://www.hopenhagen.org/ and tell the world what gives you hope.
This blog post is a part of Blog Action Day 2009 where more than 6,000 bloggers in 135 countries write about climate change today the 15th of October. Blog Action Day will reach more than 10,000,000 readers around the world with messages expressing support for finding a sustainable solution to the climate crisis. You can see more about the project here.
Our hope is that initiatives like Hopenhagen and Blog Action Day will create awareness about climate change and all the little things we can do to make our planet a better place, and that it will convince the world’s leaders to create an ambitious climate agreement when they meet in Copenhagen in December.
