Brian Littrell

Ok, so basically recently BackStreet Boys had to cancel an autograph signing event for their fans as Brian got the swineflue. Although Brian is very sick, he managed to have the energy to turn on his webcam, and make a video that has been watched by over 180 thousand people on YouTube on only two days.

I have to say when I saw the video, my initial thought was ‘ooohhh myyy God!!!’, I mean seriously, even if Brian is sick, that doesn’t necessarily mean the rest of the Backstreet Boys couldn’t attend the autograph signing event. In any case, the initiative to reach out to your 14 year old fans must be applauded though, although I really really question his sincerity. He apologies (i.e. uses the word “I’m sorry”) four times during the video, which basically means he apologizes every 30 seconds. Hmm, makes you wonder, right?

You know what I think really happened? I think they all had a little girl fight about who was going to sit in the middle, and Brian lost, and refused to attend. What do you think?

it’s good because it works on their target audience – but I have to agree with you, its a very cheap shot!

haha, let’s see how far they get with this, and whether it really makes a difference to their audience…which it seems to be making, but interesting is definitely the key word for this way of marketing themselves ;-)
