Who was “behind”? Mindjumpers or what. Where is the stupid marketing bureau that got the idea and money for this campaign? I know enough about marketing to know that this is a marketing succes for marketing people. “Normal” people will have a different view – polls already indicate that. Remember REM?

@Ivar – no Mindjumpers did not have anything to do with the campaign. It was the the ad agency Grey that were behind the campaign.

What does it tell you about a) what Denmark has to offer at a tourist destination, and b) what tourists are interested in, when the stated appeal of a tourism ad campaign revolves around knocking up twentysomething blondes who don’t know your name?

In the interest of sexual and sexuality equity, they should also put up a youtube featuring an attractive Danish man reminiscing about a year-old hookup he had with a foreigner (it should be gender neutral to appeal to both women and gay men). Am I right, guys?

Hmmm, i see it this way… They are using the image of easy Danish women which i find queite insulting as a non-Danish woman. It is insulting because there is nothing that these guys can not do for attracting more tourists then… Besides which stupid man would like to have a baby from a one-night-stand??? It can only be a good ad for the bar mentioned in her talk.

I things is a genius commercial.
Commercial is about public knowledge to the individuel subjekt, and here, we clearly see an example of a public commercial.
And what you are saying about Denmark is only about sex, is NOT true, though we have a free politic about sex and drinking in Denmark. And is of course not a way to scare people away, but guess this not gonna happend i any case, i thing it will work.

This is a lazy and demeaning ad.
They could have shown how the baby happened

very unrealistic. i couldn’t get laid in denmark. in fact, as a traveller the locals were quite hard to meet and mingle with. incidentally the best looking danish girl i met was brunette. and completely off topic, the little mermaid statue sucks.
but otherwise, i enjoyed my time there :)

If Denmark has nothig else to offer, than it is ok that they sell sex on their tv ads. Otherwise it is just damaging the brand value of the country.

Hi, i think this advert attracted a lot of attention, and that’s all that matters, it got attention !! And the word Denemark gor attention with it! Also it is full of humor, i had a laugth.. which also matters so much, because if we laugth we will remember it and tell our friends…
i have been to Denemark only once, now it came back to me, Danish can be fun!! who knows. Please tell us more about you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been recently on denmark for three weeks, and my opinion is that denmark’s beauty is shadowed by the astronomical prices of everything. Shouldn’t the tourists have some kind of discounts in some basic things like transport? Prices are ridiculous.

Sincerely, would come back, but my pouch does not let me go ahead.

I really wonder what originally should have been the message to the potential danish tourist in this video. A “making of” of this video would be interesting.

There is just one thing that buggers me. Is VisitDenmark trying to sell the idea of Denmark being a tolerant society or Denmark being a land of liberated women who don’t mind having sex with the first dark man crossing their path?

If they tried to sell the first one, I think a better idea would be to explain their attitude towards refugees and immigrants in general first. If it’s the second… well… they are promoting some kind of sexual tourism, aren’t they? (oh, so very liberal!). How would it work if we change the word “Denmark” with “Thailand”?. Maybe not so comfortable to see, huh?

I lived in Denmark for 5 years, and I love the country. I do think the Danes are very open-minded and non-judgemental. But as a woman, I just find this campaign disgusting.

it’s very chauvinist this advertisement. i know danish people is very open minded and also intelligent, but this goes beyond, it’s not fair that this tourist agence treats women as objets. Where is the fight againist sexual transmision diseases?
Come to denmark and probably you’ll leave your blood in the country or maybe you will go back to your place with aids, siphilis or something else.
i know some people in denmark and probably they are one of the most wonderful people in the world. and i really would love to visit the country and who knows maybe to know a lovely girl but i won’t visit the country thinking that’s a Red Zone Country

WTF, I fell for it……..being a man I fell for it…what a shame…. I felt so sorry for the girl and for the baby in first place. Everybody was laughing and I was angry at them …….man I was wrong…..I guess there’s nothing saint in this world left………
