In the end of July we wrote about how Drew Olanoff since he was diagnosed with cancer in May 2009, has been blaming everything on his cancer – like losing his keys or misplacing his wallet. He decided to use the possibilities social media give and created a campaign that encourages people to blow off steam by blaming his cancer for bad things in their lives. When people blame Drew’s cancer using the hashtag #BlameDrewsCancer on Twitter, the Tweet will show up on a sign at blamedrewscancer.com. And by now more than 11.000 people have blamed almost 24.000 things on Drew’s cancer.
Two days ago, Drew and his successful social media charity campaign, got a helping hand in spreading the word by the Paul Dateh – in form of a YouTube song trying to raise awareness about the campaign.
We will follow Drew and the campaign closely to see whats next, until then enjoy the new “theme song” for Blame Drew’s Cancer.
