It’s not hard to get people around Europe to participate in the making of video when it’s for a better climate. Everywhere we went in Copenhagen, London, Paris and Rome almost everybody was happy to say a few words to the camera about how they do their laundry. The video project enabled us to meet a lot of committed people all eager to help the environment.
We prepared the trip from home by using Facebook and Twitter to create contacts to people across Europe and it was amazing to meet everybody in real life in their home cities. We found Grethe, who is a retired airhostess from Nyborg living in Rome, on ‘Danskere I Rom’ (Danish people living in Rome) on Facebook. Grethe, her Italian husband and their daughter were kind enough to spend a Sunday afternoon showing us good locations in Rome, and it turned out to be a really nice afternoon.
In Paris Alessandra, a 26-year-old Parisian singer and actress helped us navigate the city and communicate with the French – and she of course turned to be really good on camera too.
The way we did it was simply to stop people in the street to ask them to say a few words. This lead to interesting experiences like meeting a real Guru from Malaysia in the middle of London, a couple of very committed teachers from Algeria who were eager to spread our message to their school children and a British manager of a very secret member’s club for royal and celebrities in London – to name a few. Other than that we’ve met Indian, Australian, American, Latvian and Brazilian people who were willing to help us too.

All in all it’s been an amazing experience to talk about the climate with all kinds of people from all over the world. But the most important part is that everybody wants a healthier planet.
We can’t wait to show you the result of our trip when the campaign launches – very soon.
