Olivier Blanchard has made a great blog post about how Social Media experts and gurus,  when confronted with the matter of ROI (Return On Investment) on social media, often turn to talking about a lot of important things, but they are not ROI!

To sum up the post – ROI is purely financial. If you can’t link your work directly to your bottom line it’s not ROI, so google analytics, fans on facebook pages, power dialogue with consumers, interaction – they can all be important, but they are not ROI.

    Great post and a great video!

    Even if I’m not in the brand building field the I think the same line of questioning applies to most organisations that use, or are about to use, social media. So MY question is, what are the tools to measure social media ROI?
